HPV(human papilloma virus) can go away yes..that's true, but it doesn't always just clear up. That's why us women are supposed to get a pap smear every year.. as hpv can cause abnormal cells in the cervix and can lead to cervical cancer. Herpes also increases your chance of cervical cancer. So if I had to pick it would be hpv because there's the chance that it will go away. But both are not great things

Basically, I would rather have neither because I have HPV. Just found out I had it this year and it has made me have two abnormal pap smears and go through two different outpatient surgeries; a colposcopy and biopsy, and cryosurgery, and a LEEP. All of those things were painful to me and I don't really want to go to the doctor every three months until I get a normal pap smear, but to protect myself from getting cervical cancer from the hpv, I have to. I have a friend that has herpes and she tells me that the outbreaks of sores is the works part. I would not wish neither one of those on my worst enemy. So I hope that answers your question.

This is a tough one, but I'd have to say hpv. HPV is a virus that can cause cervical cancer in women. It is a common problem but it doesn't always lead to cancer. With HPV, there are no symptoms. An article that I recently read from the American cancer society said that almost all ppl who have had sex have had HPV, but the infection doesn't last long because in most ppl our bodies are able to fight off the infection. The longer HPV goes untreated, the more likely that you would get cervical cancer. Herpes is not curable, you have outbreaks, and it looks disgusting.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

My honest answer would be neither, but faced with the choice, Herpes would be less threatening. It is incurable, but if treated, not fatal. Whereas HPV is the source of most cervix cancers, which is life threatening. Here you go. But protect yourself with condoms and treat herpes with a daily anti-viral treatment, this way, sex is more pleasant and safer.
