I have never been to Alaska, but I am very interested in it. I have found a lot of photos taken in Alaska, and they are pretty beautiful.
But it is said that Alaska is a typical victim of pollution and environment problem, living there may damage one's health.

Are these information true or false?
Anyone living in Alaska here?Do you enjoy your life there?

I'ved lived here for several years - in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska by far.

You have 3 large cities - Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. The rest get very small very fast.

I would say that it is tremendously beautiful here. The mountains are gorgeous, the wildlife is vibrant, and the botany is diverse.

The light is very interesting and different because of the altitude. In the summer, the days are around 20 hours long and in winter, they are around 6 hours (in Anchorage - further north the differences are more extreme). In summer, the twilight lasts almost an hour and a half.

In the winter, northern lights are a very beautiful phenomena (and are more common further north than anchorage)

I'm fairly sensitive to pollution, and I have had no problems in Anchorage . . . in the rural areas there is even less air pollution. I think there is one or two days a year that the air exceeds pollution standards - as opposed to southern california which might have over 100 days per year.

I enjoy life here.

Some people find the dark difficult in the winter. The cold is also a factor, although Anchorage is not really that cold. Fairbanks, and villages in the interior are probably colder than anywhere in the US - one winter the high for 40 days was 20 below zero (the HIGH) and the lows were around 50 to 60 below zero (Fahrenheit).

Give it a visit, and stay if you like it! Typical tourist spots in the summer are Denali national park toward the north, and Seward toward the south - the Kenai fjords glacier cruises out of Seward are usually a big hit for visitors.

Alaska is beautiful.

Chances of being injured by pollution are very very small.

Been there and seen it in person for about 15 years.

PS...stay away....Alaska doesn't need trouble makers.
