I collect cards and am pricing my collection. I'm noticing that some cards that I thought wouldn't be worth anything are more expensive than some of the big names.
What determines how much a card is worth? Does anybody know? I'd like to get serious into my hobby.
Thanks!

Best guide on market is Beckett price guides.
Worth is determined by how well known, how well liked, achievements condition and scarcity of card.
The library has books and there are tons of info on line.
Find a reputable dealer in your area and let them know you want to learn and be a serious collector. If you are underage get a parent to get into it with you. Be leary of a too good to be true deal..do your research..fakes are out there on various cards..in all aspects of collecting From Sports cards to the Non ~ Sports cards.

Card values continue to go up and down with time. Depending on the age of the card and also depending on how famous that particular baseball player was and how many home runs he had determines the value of the card.

Call around to the different card dealers and they may be of help to you or like the first person said try Ebay and see what they are selling/buying for them. What also would be helpful is to find a collectors book nothing but baseball cards and find out that way as well. Perhaps your local library would have this information.

Good luck to you and I hope I was some what helpful!

There are a number of undemanding techniques to be certain. a million. look on eBay, see what comparable enjoying cards to those you have are advertising for. remember the priority of your enjoying cards as adversarial to those you notice there. 2. fee instruction manual, grab a cost instruction manual. Your superb guess may well be surfing up for a month's worth of Beckett's on line fee instruction manual. the present variations do no longer record each and all of the enjoying cards anymore so in case you have something that's no longer interior the mainstream then you won't discover a cost interior the magazine. shop in mind that the fee publications record the Retail fee so in case you had to sell you does no longer get the fee listed. in case you have been advertising you may anticipate 10 to 50% of the listed fee 3. Card shows/ sellers. Take a pattern of your superb stuff to a broking or a card tutor and spot what they grant. or perhaps basically circulate to browse and spot in case you have something which you notice.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. I would try looking on ebay too see what cards are selling for.
