What is the theme of the poem. what poetic devices are used?

It's a parody of the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner by Robert Frost. The main devices used were a fretsaw, countersunk posidrive screws and linseed oil.

My interpretation of this poem is that too often we go with the flow and don't try new things or different ways. You will never appreciate the valley if you haven't seen them from the top of a mountain. The easy way is not always the most rewarding. Life is full of brambles and obstacles and if we overcome them that makes a difference but if we take the easy route then we learn nothing new. Instead of taking the motorway take the country roads they are so much more interesting and beautiful.
