My laptop died, so I'm replacing it. I'm a huge fan of Toshiba, and my warranty credit is only at TigerDirect.com.

My old one was a P35 Pentium 4 3.5GHz, 1.5GB DDR RAM, 17' widescreen - but I ran it at about half-speed most of the time to prevent overheating, so I'm used to about 1.8ish.

This is my main computer, but I don't do anything that intensive: web browsing, Notepad web design, AIM, word processing, basic Java/Visual Basic programming. The ability to multi-task is the most important thing.

Here are my four choices:

For simplicity, please refer to them by the model number (P35, M105, A105, F25)

In my opinion, the 2nd one and 3rd one are good for you. because first one is too big and heavy, and last one some functions *(like TV) are not very useful , when it run on computer the speed will be affected.

Ok, from what you are tell me it sounds like your old computer was built like a desk-top. Next I would buy a computer with parts built for a lap-top such as:

1. Intel Pentium M
2. AMD Mobile 64 Technology

The processor will run faster, will increase your battery life, & stop it from over heating. Next time I would also buy maybe a 15.4" or 14" screen. I hope you find a great life, that works.
