The specifics of any honors program will differ depending on the university. At my undergrad school, you would have to take so many honors classes which would be smaller sections of regular courses but taught at an accelerated pace. Keep in mind that you still take regular courses, so it's not like everything is honors-level. Some of the other benefits were getting priority scheduling over other students, and being able to waive or change certain requirements for your degree (particularly general ed classes). There were also some scholarships that were available only to Honors College students.

It's different for every university, but at mine, it seriously just means that when you graduate, you graduate "With Honors." It's up to you whether or not that's worth it.

much much harder classes lotsa homework very fast paced. not for the timid.
