Anemia can be serious see below.
If you have anemia, people may say you have tired blood. That's because anemia — a condition in which there aren't enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your tissues — can make you feel tired.
If you suspect you have anemia, see your doctor. Anemia can be a sign of serious illnesses. Treatments for anemia range from taking supplements to undergoing medical procedures. You may be able to prevent some types of anemia by eating a healthy, varied diet.
Signs and symptoms
The main symptom of most types of anemia is fatigue. Other signs and symptoms of anemia include:
Weakness
Pale skin
A fast heartbeat
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Dizziness
Cognitive problems
Numbness or coldness in your extremities
Headache
Initially, anemia can be so mild it goes unnoticed. But signs and symptoms increase as the condition progresses.

A doctor can tell you if you are anemic. It's usually caused from blood being lost and not replaced fast enough. It's very easy for young women to become anemic just from their monthly periods. Generally the doctor will prescribe an iron supplement. Anemia can also be an indication of internal bleeding such as an ulcer. It can also be a symptom of certain diseases. You would feel tired and you might have aching muscles. I don't know if headaches are part of the syndrome. You need to see a doctor.

The strict definition of anemia is abnormally low amount of blood in your circulatory system. WHile this seems simple, the causes can be many. It seems that the people that told you you are anemic are insinuating that you are not getting the proper nutrients to build enough blood. As a result of this, you are weak. However, you may be weak for other reasons (not enough sleep, stress, thyroid problems), and maybe not due to anemia per se. The only way to diagnose anemia is to actually do a blood test. THis blood test will also give clues as to how this anemia came about.
The causes of anemia are many - it can be from loss of blood (in a young woman, this is commonly due to loss of blood during her periods). It can be from poor nutrition - either not eating enough or something wrong with your gut that keeps you from absorbing nutrients. SOme people have abnormal hemoglobin (the oxygen carrying component of their red blood cell) (i.e. people with sickle cell disease or thalessemia) and these cells break easily, causing low blood counts. Sometimes infections can cause your blood cells to break more easily. Other people have unhealthy bone marrows, so not enough blood gets made.
The reasons are many, but make sure you really are anemic before your worry.

Anemia as many have already said is a low iron count. It's a simple cbc(complete blood count) and iron test(ferritin) and also anemia can be a lack of folic acid (folate)as well. The iron test you have to fast for, and if it shows that you're low on iron then the first treatment usually prescribed is iron supplements. Your hemoglobin count if low tells the dr that you've been low on iron for several weeks already. Some classic signs of anemia are being tired, lack of energy, pale, faint or dizzy, headaches, shortness of breath. Also heart palpitations, depression, an urge to eat weird things such as chalk..and yes..hair loss can happen as well
Go see your dr..tell him you're tired and get alot of headaches..he'll run the right tests

Anemia is having a low number of red blood cells. This can cause you to feel weak or tired and can be easily checked in your blood by testing your hematocrit (% of red blood cells to other blood constituents). You may also need an iron supplement. Here is a link for you:

Lack of iron. Nothing I write will do any good for you. Run, don't walk to your nearest mental health clinic where you MUST ask for help with eating disorders. Just do it and really good luck

Anemia means you do not have enough iron. Bannanas are a good source of iron. You can also take iron tablets, but you should know it will cause you to poop a lot. lol
