it froze in the middle of a song and ive tried leaving it alone for a while, pushing buttons, even hooking it up to my laptop but itunes doesnt even open. what happened and how can i fix it??

Press the middle button and the Menu button for a few seconds and it will restart.

Try holding down the Menu and the Middle buttons for 5 seconds

GET RID OF IT! ipods SUCK! i've been through 2 in the last 2 years! i had the mini, and then they replaced it because it broke after 6 months of having it. after having the replacement for 4 months, it broke again! and i can't replace it a second time. so now i'm stuck with this piece of sh!t that doesn't work, and has all my songs on it.

well...sum time ago the same thing happened with me also...i restored all the settings...see the quick guide for that...after i restarted my ipod nano...it started working again

I heard that they have this problem with some of them and there's "no" fix! You have to get ahold of the manufacturer and, (if it's not too old), they'll replace it.
(But... it's not something they're advertising!)
