After riding out Hurricane Rita at home with my elderly mother, her sister, my husband and grown children I no longer have a feared natural disaster. Our county did not allow for special needs evacuation and after taking 4 hours to drive 30 miles we ended up back home because the old ladies could not take the evacuation. One of our pets died during the trip and the others were very upset. The house is a custom built very sturdy brick that several times during the night lifted off the foundation and was set back down, We had 2 trees on the house and 20 down in the yard the next morning. The driveway was completely blocked by 6 trees. Our local sheriffs dept. told us we were on our own. We did not have enough food or water as we had planned to evacuate. We had to use a bucket for a toilet which had to be emptied behind a tree.

Its horrid and some people dont have cars, so when they come their stuck. even if they survive they have so little food and water

A long drought all over the world. Humans, plants, animals and all living things needs water, not sea water.
Remember, you can last a few days without food, but not water.
