it looks so gross on most girls. natural beauty is more attractive than a bunch of goop on your face. it's sooo stupid. eye stuff, maybe. lip stick, okay. me and my buddies think that the more makeup you where, the uglier you are underneath it all. why hide your face girls show the real thing.

Fashion is fun! And it compensates for lack of self confidence about one's looks. Teen-age girls tend to over-do and it takes time and experience to apply make-up skillfully. Also, not all guys are turned off by all that goop, if it's the current fashion and especially if it is artfully and skillfully applied. Alot of guys like the natural look - but some of that is subtle make-up!
Yes, it's better to show the "real" you, but it's also important to attract a guy in the first place so that he'll get to know the real you, and many girls/women DO look better with more noticeable eyelashes and lusher lips.
Depends on your point of view. It's a free country.

Some women in other cultures wear makeup because it is believed to enhance the natural beauty and attract men. In africa, women get tattoos on their faces as well to enhance their beauty.
As far as women in the US, some women wear makeup to enhance their features. If a woman has small lips, a little color will enhance them and make them look fuller, if she has light eyelashes, she may wear mascara to make them darker to appear as if she has eyelashes.
I think that some women (such as myself) have such strong facial features that they look better without makeup. My eyelids have a different color skin tone, so I always look like I'm wearing a light sweep of eyeshadow. My eyelashes are dark, so I always look like I'm wearing mascara.
Every now and then I will wear makeup, but not to often.
The women that put "a bunch of goop on their face" rather than a light sweep of eyeshadow and a touch of lipstick mainly overdo it because they don't know the proper colors to use to not only enhance their features but also that match their skintone. All women should pay close attention to the complexity of their skin tone.
For other information, some women wear cover up because they
have such oily skin, and the cover up lessens the shine. ;)

You know, for the ones that wear it, the uglier you say they look, the more they'll pile it on.
It's just a matter of personal prefrence. Some people can't live without it, some never use it, and there are many shades in between.
I barely wear anything, but that's my prefrence...every gir's different. Stop lumping "girls" all into the same thing. Not ALL girls do it.

Makeup has been around forever. It was first used back in the Egyptian Dynasties to hydrate your skin from the heat. It also was a sign of wealth, and health. Look at the Native Americans. tribal communities all over the world......it has religious meanings. Makeup has a history. Actually, what you see girls wear , is nothing compared to what in history, or even present in some parts of the world, is. Makeup isn't for everyone......but its part of culture all over the globe.

Many women wear make-up to look better, cover up a flaw, even out their skin tone. Sure they do it for themselves. But mainly for you men. My face is reddish. I have small eyes with light colored eyelashes (sparse I might add). So, sometimes I put powder on, mascara and colored lip gloss. That's it. a woman at work wears lots of eyeliner (racoon like) and looks hideous. But all the guys at work thinks she's hot (at 47). My bf doesn't care if I wear make-up. But trust me, if we go out and I don't have it on, and some hottie walks by, then I regret not wearing it. So, basically it is a way of keeping a man's attention by creating this illusion of beauty. I mean come on, you have looked at porn or playboy pinups or strippers. They have lots of make-up on. I bet if they had none on at all you would not find them hot.
It does cost alot of money buy make-up. And if used every day, it won't last long.

that's actually pretty cool to hear a guy say that. more women should do that, but the reality is most are very insecure. personally when i go out, i make sure that i only highlight certain features, one at a time. like one night i might want to show off my full lips, or another night i might want to really show off my almond shaped eyes. it really depends on the occasion for me, but i always try to keep my look very natural, yet still very seductive.

okay... i hope someone gives u a ginormous hug for saying that... It's true that i wear makeup... not a ton, but i definitley wear it... But i definitley wish that it had never been invented, because we wouldnt know the difference without it then. I really hate the feeling of it most of the time, but it boosts my confindence! And we like to feel like we're being noticed... making yourself look different is one way to get noticed... just like getting a new hair cut!

it is surely made to make girls prettier so u guys r either stupid or gay!(:P) or...( dont be sad there can be another reason:P) the girls around u put too much make up on themselves that the face is fulled of it and doesnt look like face any more! see what is the reason?!

well i just do it to play around.. i love art! i paint, draw and i dunno..on one hand i hate puting on makeup because you're right..it's not the real me..but on the other..it's like painting on my face =D i get really creative with my looks..like most gals go out natural..i put on liquid black liner on my lids and then i mix lip colors..sometimes i wear mascara..sometimes i really go for the glamorous look.. i change my looks every day.. it's fun to experiment..but i think other gals do it so they'll look pretty and guys will think they're sexy...i remember in 7th grade or w/e when i didn't put on makeup at all, this gal asked me if i want guys to look at me..so ya that's my guess. =D

I wear make up because otherwise my features are not well defined and I look like I have no eyelashes or lips so It just brings them out to dress up the features. It has been done for thousands of years (men and women) Egypt times
