what is this other 2%? where did it come from?. aliens?. ha ha I know,this is a dumb question, I just do not know.

there is 98% chimpanze d n a in all humans, so where did the other two % come from. simple question.what is the other 2%? how did we humans get two % of something else in us?.other then our chimp ancesters. to make us differnt from chimps. where did this other 2% come from. this is the question. not anything else.where did this dna come from. not the chimp dna, the other 2%.if you do not know then thats fiine, but where did it come from. why are we different from chimps,? its because of this other 2% of something, what is that something, ???

Chimps and people each share 98% of their genetic material, the ancestors of both species having evolved from a common ancestor, perhaps 20,000,000 years ago. The remaining 2% in man and chimp account for the differences between the two species. As Doug pointed out, this is called mutational genetic drift.

It altered over time while we were in different environments than our primate forbearers and primate cousins. It's not "extra", it's just the percentage that has changed over the past few million years.

I would have to say ducks or frogs. Where else would we get the webbings that we have between the fingers and toes???
