I have a research paper where I need a topic that is not one sided or narrow. Then I need a hypothesis to go along with the theory. I just need to figure out what is a good thing to write about. I was thinking of writing about the border issue or about the immagration stuff. What do you think?

You spelt immigration wrong. Yes, it might be a good thing to talk about if you are writing something about law or social issues.
