why does racism bring out the worst in people? so much ignorance?

Because racism is hate, and hate is such a strong emotion.

Because it is the worst of people. It's something primitive that our increasing knowledge and intelligence should have wiped out by now. Anybody who thinks things thru using logic and reason cannot get behind racism. Only beer drinking neanderthals can agree with it.
