From what I hear, they didn't like to use soap, shampoo and razors because it would contribute to the capitalist economy. Also, why was the VW Microbus such a popular vehicle for these odorus folk?

From what I remember, the hippies liked to take special kinds of baths, and use special kinds of antiperspirants. At least once a year if I remember correctly. (I'm 60). VWs were popular because you only needed to fill up about once a month.
And gas was about 30 cents a gallon. So that gave you a lot more money for marijauna, heroin, cocaine, and opium. See?

Let me tell you something, I'd rather we were back in the time of the hippies compared to this bunch of crap we have to put up with nowadays. Tattoed, pierced, asses hanging out, disrespectful, jail house talking, disgusting music that causes nothing but rage to swell up. Yeah, what would the rest of you rather have? And I was too young to be a hippy.
