I've been sick of them for months.
The funny thing is that the ads are recycled. I was talking to my brother who lives in a different state. He was telling me about an ad against a certian candidate. The ad was word for word, except the names were changed, like the ones running in the state I live in. It's just funny.
Sometimes I do think it would be better to just vote for Elvis or Mickey Mouse, or even your mom. It's sad that there are so few who hold pulbic office who are willing to do the right thing, and not the bidding of the party they belong to. If people would stand up and do what is right, and be AMERICANS, we would not have many of the problems we now face.
Good luck to YOUR MOM IN 08!

I see two types of ads:
1) Mud-slinging - Don't vote for my opponent because they want to ruin the country/state/city. These are always taken out of context, and really make me sick. Don't tell me what's wrong with opponent: Tell me what you will do!
2) Promises they will do it all - "I promise to lower taxes". "I promise to end the war in Iraq". And many more that you know they can't do by themselves. How can they promise something that needs to be voted on by both houses of Congress, and then signed by the President?
We mock the commercials every time they come on. We even started telling the campaigners that we are voting Libertarian this year (which is starting to look more and more true!). You can hear their mouth drop over the phone, and they don't stay on much longer.

I am so sick of the ads. I live in Nebraska and there are 2 canidates that are battling it out on TV. One has a rediculous "cartoon style" add to the tune of 'old McDonald had a farm' and it is driving me up the wall. I too agree that we would be much better off without them! I think that I would vote for your mom too! LOL

The problem is that while over 80% of Americans think that all politicians are scumbags, over 60% of them think that THEIR scumbag is really a worthwhile person.
And negative ads work - unfortunately.
Democracy - the worst form of government in the world - except for everything else.

Agreed. We need to elect people that aren't lifetime politicians, then maybe they could get things done without worrying about their careers. That's why I want to see this new movie, "Man Of the Year". It looks awsome!

Yeah the politics are getting insane. I saw one commercial yesterday and it was all about how she was a great grandmother and parent, and it told nothing of her position. Heinous.
Also Kinky Friedman. I'm sooooo sick of this guy and his lies.
