With a lot of work you can saw a leg off with a hacksaw. You may wish to cut away the fat and muscle of the leg first but it does a fine job on the femur. Perhaps a bone saw would be more to your liking. These implements were used by surgeons during the Civil War.

Hacksaws are meant to saw metal with fine tooth serrations. I do believe flesh and bone is softer than metal. Check with your doctor to see what kind of saw they use to saw amputees.

sure it can it can saw thru metal so surely it can saw thru the much softer bone with ease although im sure it will be terribly painful with a lot of blood and gore.

As long as the blade isn't too dull... sure. Getting through the skin, fat and muscle is easy... the bone is kinda challening, though.

well i'm sure with a lot of pain it could.. but during the civil war they used a bone saw.. relly tough blade
