Your ? is intriguing, but too broad because there just too many of these categories in fiction. Because there were top 10's in literature, television, cinema, theater, computer games, and comics.

When ever I think of robots the one from the old TV show LOST IN SPACE comes to mind- ROBOT was his name
"Danger Will Robinson!"
The other I think of is the CYLONS in the original BAttlestar Galactica series, not the new one...
