Jack Nicholson yelling "Here's Johnny!" as he axes his way through a door when going after his wife in The Shining. The 10 top scary moments are: 1. The Shining (1980) - Jack Nicholson chops through the door and shouts "Here's Johnny!" 2. The Exorcist (1973) - Possessed girl's rotating head and projectile vomit 3. Jaws (1975) - Severed head falls from boat 4. Alien (1979) - Alien bursts out of John Hurt's chest 5. The Blair Witch Project (1999) - Heather Donahue in tears in the woods 6. Ring (1998) - Sadako crawls through the television 7. Halloween (1978) - Serial killer Michael's face appears behind Jamie Lee Curtis in a house full of dead bodies 8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - Leatherface's general reign of terror 9. The Omen (1976) - Oscar-winning eerie music score 10. A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) - First appearance of horror icon Freddy Krueger

FREDDIE CROUGAR'S blades in Nightmare on Elm Street. That sound and his voice still unnerves me. It took me three whole tries to watch that movie when it first came out. I'm 45 now and it still sends a cold chill up my spine. I sincerely believe that is the thing that started my light sleeping habit I still have today, every little thing wakes me, it is horrible.
THIS IS WHY TODAY I NEVER, EVER WATCH SCARY MOVIES EVER!
OMG! THE EXORCIST (part 1) that was an EVIL, EVIL movie, THAT VOICE AND THE WAY SHE JUST SAT IN THAT BED AND GRINNED, HER EYES AND HER SKIN JUST SPLITTING & HER HEAD TURNING ALL THE WAY AROUND LIKE THAT & ALL THAT GRENN VOMIT. That's enough to scar any kid FOR LIFE......................
OH OH! and Jaws, I was young when the first one came out, and I would not take a bath for a long time or sit on the toilet without long enough to use it. I hate the ocean today though I know it is beautiful, I just can't go in the water. I wish I had never seen that one!

The end of the original Night of the Living Dead when the guy gets shot in the forehead after getting through the whole incident with the zombies. It was so ironic.

I would say in I Know What You Did Last Summer, when they are in the boat and they find Barry and Helen's bodies in the ice. Maybe not the best, but most memorable for me, cuz I choose not to watch that many horror films.

Mine will be this Thai horror movie which is based on a true story.
Its a scene that concluded why the lead actor weigh so much heavier than his skinny body is.
Its his dead ex gf sitting on his shoulder following him around. wishing her chance for the bf to love her back, even tho he took picture of his mates raping her.
I still goosebumps thinking about it.. ewww but awww

In the Japanese movie Ôdishon. When Asami feeds the guy vomit. Not too bad until you find out the dog bowl of vomit fed to him is in fact the actual vomit of actress Eihi Shiina, who played Asami. Takashi Miike(the director) claims that Eihi is a method actress and insisted on doing this.
Not to mention the torture scene, but I don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't seen it yet.

I watched this movie "May" in which a girl stabs herself in her good eye with a pair of scissors so she could pull it out. This movie also had a class of blind children crawling around in broken glass. There was a lot that was disturbing about that movie, come to think of it.

the exorcist. when she turns her head all the way around. oooh and that movie...i dont know the name of it (i didn't even see all of it or know if its a horror movie) but this guy is coming down from meth or H or somethin and he's in his parents house and he is imagining a dead baby crawling on the ceiling and the baby turns its head around and looks at him. that was freaky. (i think i have issuses with people turning their heads in a position that is not normal...)
