Italy is a team with rich soccer history and france has no history whatsoever! France cannot be even compared to teams like Brasil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Engald. These teams have rich footballing history and have produced some great soccer players whereas France have produced some of the biggest cheaters and divers in the world - Henry will top the list. He is the king of all the cheaters.
France have won the world cup once which was on their home soil and the win was highly controversial. All over the world, people respect teams like Brasil, Italy, Argentina, Germany cos soccer is all about these countries. They play entertaining football.

Italy is the better team given the results of the 2006 World Cup. Given that it was decided in a penalty shoot out, the margin is fairly close but being the current World Cup champions puts the Italians. Mind you, the Italians are third in theiry qualifying group for Euro 2008 after France and Scotland but they have improved.

I'll side with Italy, although I feel the two are evenly matched.
If the game's pace is controlled by Italty, I think they will make better use of their oppotunities and be given a distinct edge.

france is better as it has got speed, skill mind and body coordination. they have got better players. it was a miracle that italy won the world cup. actually the team had lost confidence whem zidane got a red card
