My friend was stung by a bee on the knee cap...did not go to hospital.
The next day could not walk and it swelled up to the size of an orange.
They tried seven different antibiotics IV's and one of them stopped his heart and they had to jump start him with the paddles.
He got a rare staff infection and they almost amputated his leg.

I was stung twice within a couple weeks as a teenager by honeybees; once on the heel of my hand and once on the foot. My hand and foot turned purple and swelled. I went to the doc after the 2nd one and he said that I was allergic and that if I was ever stung again I should go to the ER as soon as possible. I haven't ever had a reaction like those before, and didn't have the respiratory distress that many have with being allergic to stings. I haven't ever been stung again to know what would happen. I would suggest going and getting it checked out just to be on the safe side. I had to take some kind of prescription to be sure that my blood wouldn't get infected.

I got stung on the bypass around Nashville and had no cell phone and g/f had to give me mouth 2 mouth until someone stopped and called 911 then when they got there I had a needle to the heart

I allergic to Italian bees the brown ones...Been stung by wasps and just some swelling...

I haven't been stung in a long time that I don't even know whether I have developed an allergy towards venomous insects or not.

O.K. ! I think it sounds a little dramatic. I do believe that one can have a very bad reaction. But not where they ampuate the leg , please !
