Well...the one that jumped out of the tank lost the battle. I am curious as to how they got together...?

Anyway...get some stress coat. Stress Coat has aloe in it, which helps the fins and scales of the fish. Keep them in separate bowls on separate sides of the room for a while. They need to rest.

I have heard of bettas jumping out of a tank before. I have owned in excess of 15 males and 22 females and never saw that for myself.

Betas are very hardy fish and come back from bad things quickly. Just PLEASE put them completely away from each other for a while.

Good Luck and Take Care.

P.S. If you have one of those tanks with a divider and you have no other tank you can put one of the betas in, then use something that is safe for fish, to black out their view of each other. Like maybe something that is plastic and solid black. They need to be out of each others line of sight to ease their stress levels in order to heal properly.

OK. the injured fish, make sure he is in a different bowl - away from the other one, really clean water. Got to the local pet store and buy something called 'BettaFix Remedy. Folllow the instructions on the bottle but usually pt a few drops in the water. It will protect him from infection and help his fins grow back better. They'll probably never be the same - depends how badly they were damaged but that stuff will certainly help.

Betta owner for several years, soon to be breeder.

I had a Beta that I had in a tank and he would always get stuck in the filter. His fins got shredded, so I took him out and put him in a bowl of his own and within a few weeks his fins grew back. I also added some aqua conditioner to the water that would help his skin.

The fins will slowly repair themselves.

I reccommend adding a little stress coat and perhaps a betta natural med (sold at pet stores - just for Bettas) to his water just to help him out a little with all the stress of being beat up.

Betta's jump out a lot, even through small holes you would think they could not jump through. Working at a pet store for 2 years, I found many poor dead ones who jumped from their cups with just a smal slit in the lid.

a female could be only as advise and territorial as a male betta. when you consider that this one has been on my own see you later and is somewhat generic in the tank, she probable could injury any male or female you extra in along with her. sure, women could be housed at the same time, and that i've got even stored a male in with women (20 gallon planted tank), however the smaller the tank the fewer probable you have gotten fulfillment, and the fewer fish the fewer probable you have gotten fulfillment. it somewhat is counseled on housing distinctive female betta to get a minimum of a 10 gallon and 5 women so as that no person female gets bullied to dying by way of the dominant female. you may get the betta a sprint snail or ornament or plant and it may shop her corporation and not pose a danger. the extra severe element that ought to take place is you get a extra dominant female who shreds the fins or perhaps could kill your modern fish!

The fins will repair themselves, but if the damage is moderate to severe, the fin will not look like before. It will probably be more jagged.

you need to keep mesh covers on their bowls so they don't jump out!

never ever let them be together!

as far as i know though, they are pretty resiliant fish, so as long as he's not too hurt he should be fine.
