they don't! The true church ended polygamy long ago. The so called "Mormons" who practice polygamy now do not give the girls a choice. Their fathers arrange marriages for them, and the are usually forced in to wedlock and raped into submission.

Hello! FIRST, there are no "mormon"/LDS polygamous relationships because the people that participate in them belong to some other religious group. Those that thought they were Latter-Day Saints and practice polygamy find themselves excommunicated for breaking the law and for going against the gospel.
I hope there are not too many categorically uneducated answers to this, but when people get thier info from rumors and not from finding actual facts, they look incredibly stupid.
SECOND-those women that do "accept" it are usually brought up by some jerk like Warren Jeffs brother in some remote secluded community where their parents arrange it all for some outdated and selfish reason. Then there are a few who do believe and really think for themselves. They choose to live this way.
I will joke that I would only do it so that the other "sister-wives" can clean my house so that I can spend more time with my hubby ;)

Mormon girls do not accept polygamous relationships.
Polygamy is illegal, and the Church does not practice polygamy.
The answers you have received are laughable, because the majority of them have no clue what they are talking about.
The media (TV, newspapers, etc.) refer to people like Warren Jeffs, and the people in isolated little towns that all practice polygamy as Mormons. They are not Mormon, they could not be because of their blatant disregard for Federal as well as Church law.
This is the type of trash that gives the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a bad name, but usually only to people that are ignorant concerning the Church and it's beliefs.

The girls are taught from birth that they will marry a Mormon man. No kidding, this summer my daughter went to camp with her friend who is Mormon, she came home with a song book full of songs about marrying Mormon boys. The girls turned 12 in June!
Also, in Mormonism, women are taught to be sub-servant to men, so the moms are encouraging the girls to marry. As with all religions, Mormons believe they are right in their religious traditions and who wants to risk messing up their eternity?
Lastly, it is an off branch of Mormonism that is teaching this practice not main steam Latter Day Saints.

First of all, they are not Mormons. They are fundamentalist cult wackos, and the parents raise the girls to believe that they are nothing more than vessels for men to create children with, that men are better than they are, etc.
The "Mormon" church, actually the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, banished the practice of polygamy well over a hundred years ago.

Mormons (aka: Latter-Day Saints) don't practice polygamy. You're thinking of the people who call themselves "Fundamentalist Mormons".
Any Mormon that is found practicing polygamy is kicked out of the church (excommunicated).

Normally I would just tell you that it's plain old stupidity, but in this case I believe these girls are brainwashed from the day they are born and they don't know that they have a choice. These men control the thinking and actions and social circle of these young girls, so that they are primed and ready without a though of their own to interfere.

lots of cultures accept/practice poligamy, just because it's not common or acceptable in the main stream of the culture you grew up in and know doesn't neccesarily mean it's wrong or evil. Those women may be very happy with their life, and their decision in their religious beliefs were hopefully made intelligently, but that would go for any religion.

low self esteam and no wonder look at how they are treated like a . dog and many marry there own family members . uncles. half brothers. cousins. hese girls are done wrong in my opion beat. to serve what . there fathers wishes to look good and for wha if i had a chance myself i would get them out and let them lead a normal life but they have been trained from birth to obey . very sad in my opion ?
