Well muscle weigh more than fat but lifting weights will also increase your metabolism so try to add some cardio and you will be looking great. Just don't expect to see results right away.

Wait till ur developed before you start lifting weights. Do sport and a lot of frunning to get fit. I would think that at 13 if you are 160 you are overweight. I was 160 at 20 years old. Eat proper food and do some excersice. Forget the weights for now.

Absolutely. Just don't increase the amount of food you are taking in. And try to opt for fruits and veggies instead of fries and potato chips. I know, it must be hard at 13 to eat well instead of eating for what you like. Have what your friends are having while you're with them. But you can be responsible and monitor what you are eating when you are not around them. Snack on sensible things. If your family is not supporting you (they still buy junk) demand as a person who wants to be healthy that they support you. It is a big step at your age to change your lifelong habits. I commend you for doing so.
Lifting weights is awesome for keeping in shape. However don't forget your cardio. Jog a few times around the school track daily. Or join a sports team, that'll take care of your cardio "workout".
Being healthy is fun. You can still enjoy all life has to offer without jeopardizing your health for the sake of a pastry.
Good Luck, and try and bring a couple friends with you. You'd be doing others a favour as well!

I weight the same thing at 13 and by the time I was 17 twenty pounds just fell off. Weight lifting will burn calories but with xtra fat on you, you may just end up looking bulky! My suggestion, eat healthier that's all, don't each so much fast foods, sodas, chips etc. Get active! Plenty of exercise and plenty of rest is important. Have fun!
