Can someone give me a comparison of the Yankess payroll of active players Vs. the payroll of the Tigers, Cardinals, Oakland and the Mets? Wait a minute, screw the Mets I could care less.

Yanks payroll was 78 million more than anyone elses (second most Boston), 116 million more than the Tigers, 112 million more than the Cards, and 136 million more than the A's....ARod, Giambi, and Jeter all make over 20 mill a yr...They have 11 players who make over 10 mill...The Tigers, A's, and Cards only have 6 players combined who make over 10 mill. On the other hand...the Marlins have a payroll of only 14 million, 14 Yankees make more than the highest paid Marlin, 5 Yankees make more than ALL of the Marlins players combined.

Its ridiculous...too many "stars" on one team, to many egos. They were better when they had guys like Brosius on their team...

Oh great another loser. The Yankees have been out of it for a week. Isn't it time to move on? As long as you are going to talk Yankee payroll, how about mentioning that they pay the luxury tax, which is a penalty for having a payroll over $119 million? With revenue sharing and the luxury tax, they paid baseball over $80 million dollars last year, and it will go up this year. Yes, the payroll is huge, but it's their money, they can do what they want with it. Why don't you mention that they also put more money into the game than anyone else, and that the Tigers and Oakland receive a portion of the money that the Yankees pay out? If you are gonna cry about the Yankees payroll, you need to state all the facts.

well the Yankees have spent more than 600 million in the last 6 years and nothing no championship . where the tigers is well under that pay roll by 400 millions. you think stenbrenner would start a farm club that could produce great young talent with some of that money spent on rich @ss has been players .please keep bashing the yankees they would have done it and have done it to many teams over the years .go tigers

No, but this has been a Sad couple of days, Losing Cory Lidle's Life is More Important to the Yankees then Losing a Playoff Series to the Tigers.

Don't Take the Yankees Seriously.

The Yankees are my team it disappoints me that they lose so early in the post-season. This offseason they need to get some pitching fast. They are already getting Barry Zito, he said he's coming to the Yankees after the A's lose so that 1 pitcher. i expect NY to win next year.
