Ever heard of the saying "Dumbing down America"? What are your thoughts?

Sort of.
Americans are actually, in absolute terms, more well-educated these days than they have ever been.
Comparatively, however, it is a different story. Compared to the amount of education you *can* have, Americans are, indeed, quite stupid.
But the same actually goes for the entirety of humanity. Some countries can claim better test scores than others, but one fact remains the same: most people are pretty stupid.
What makes america trully stand apart is the amount of flagrant anti-intellectualism. There are a lot of people who are not only ignorant, but who actively and proudly reject education. They're not necessarily more stupid than their counterparts in the rest of the world, they're just more intent on staying that way.
It's actually a rather complex issue, but that's the best i can distill it.

Yes. Because in recent years dumb people usually have more kids than smart people. Over time the nation's average IQ goes down and everything must be dumbed down to accomidate the majority of people - who are dumb.
