I feel somewhat sorry for all these up and coming stars who have been working so damn hard at dirt tracks to try to get into NASCAR.........and then to see guys like Carmichael (a celebrity in his own mind) get his own ride without going thru the BUSCH Series........oh well, I guess when you have friends in the right places, money talks !!! What the hell does MB2 see in Mark Martin anyways?? just another guy who will NEVER win the Nascar Championship...what a waste !!

I've never seen Ricky Carmichael in Motorcross racing. But I do know that it's not easy to switch from one form of motor-racing to another. A lot of people think that Nascar is just turning left, but it's more to it than that!
If Ricky takes it serious then he may have a shot at making it in Nascar. There have been a lot of drivers who have tried to make it into Nascar and who have failed. Nascar is not as easy as it seems.

for one, carmichael is NOT going to the CUP seires right away. next year he will run 25 races in ARCA, craftsman truck series, and POSSIBLY the busch series.
also, mark martin is one of the best statistical drivers this sport has ever seen, regardless of winning a title or not. he is the all time leader in busch series wins, with almost twice as much as the nearest competitor. he has finished 2nd in points title 4 times, most of which were behind dale earnhart sr, i believe. and it looks like he is going to win the championship this year, because, according to loop data, which is the official nascar ratings system, mark martin is the best chase driver at each of the remaining cup series races this year

It's been a hard thing for people to get into Nascar from other racing disciplines. Look at Steve Kinser from the World of Outlaws--he didn't do much in Nascar. But, good luck to him.

There's a big difference between motorcross and NASCAR. Talent is talent, if he has some he'll do well!

Probably bore him to tears, I bet he falls asleep at the wheel while leading and crashes out.
