It's either

A) -10 < 3x - 5 < 10
B) 3x + 5 < 10
C) 3x - 5 < 10 or 3x - 5 < - 10

I'm using an online study partner and every answer I choose says its incorrect, it must be a flaw with the software or something but now I'm confused as to what the correct answer is, my head is spinning :( LOL!

Don't believe them. It's B.

Could be A too.

This is how absolute value, aka, mod of an expression works....
lets consider this question itself when x>0...
when x>0,
3x-5<10
when x<0,
5-3x<10 {or} 3x-5>-10

Remember the Idea of a mod function
|x| is:
1. x, x>0
2. 0, x=0
3. -x, x<0

A is the asnwer

The answer set is > -10 and <10
If you use b then x=-10 would be -25 which is <10, but plug it back into the original equation abs val -25 is 25 which is not less than 10

if you c the second half also does the same as b

Good luck!!
