He had a heart attack after he was elected senator. lionel luthor visited him in the barn on the kent farm and got him all worked up and his heart gave out. but remeber when jarel told clark that someone he loves is going to die? yeah....that's the one

On episode 100 "Reckoning" Clark proposes to Lana after telling her his secret. She says yes and Jonathan wins the election for Senator. Lana gets a call from Lex and she goes to check on him. They get in a fight, Lex chases her in her Jeep Liberty and Lana is hit by a Smallville High Bus. She is sadly sent to her death. Clark goes to the fortress of solitude to talk to Jor-El. He takes Clark into the past and Lana isn't dead. Clark doesn't tell Lana his secret this time and she breaks up with him. Jonathan still wins the election. Lana goes to check on Lex and they get in a fight. Lana is close to getting hit by the bus but Clark stops it. Clark hides behind a bush and sees Lex and Lana huggging. Jonathan skips his party to meet Lionel Luthor in the barn. Lionel is trying to blackmail Clark and Jonathan has a fist fight with him. The fight raises his heart rate and he stumbles out of the barn to meet Martha and Clark who are driving up. The falls down and dies of a heart attack in his families' arms. It ends with his funeral. I'm not one to cry but this brought me to tears. R.I.P. Jonathan Kent.

He fought Lionel Luther and kicked his but and walked away. Then when he was outside he had a heartattack and died.That was on the 100th episode last season.
