Wash behind the ears really well. As far as inside the ear- maybe a gentle wet Q-tip (maybe ask the doctor) My 6 week old gets that gross smell too. I asked the doctor because i thought it was some type of infection- she just said Milk often drips down the cheek. Also watch for in the neck folds too

DON'T PANIC! I did the same thing to my little girl when she was an infant. I gently cleaned her ear with a washcloth and an infant Q-tip. The reason why your baby's ear "smelled" was because the milk residue was still in there. go ahead and try to clean it out as best as you can.

Yes, you're a mother, yes we make mistakes, but TRUST ME, you will laugh about this later in life. I still share the "breast milk in the ear" story with my family... it's embarrassing but funny.

Motherhood is full of surprises!

Are you sure its milk? i guess just ash it but watch the water with the ear drum ...just use a wash cloth. A lot of the time an ear infection will provide odor into the ear if it is a bad one.

Q tips are not recommended as they can cause injury. Instead, use a rubber bulb syringe that you can purchase anywhere they sell baby products. Gently flush the ear with warm water. you can also use the bulb syringe to suction the baby's nose when nasal congestion occurs due to a cold.
