Depends on how serious your c section was. My second child was c-section because placenta ruptured so that made me a high risk and if to get pregnant again it would have been safer for me and the baby. Third baby was delivered by c-section only because it was safer. I could have had a normal birth but I ran the risk of bleeding to death and loosing my life and or the babies life. Some it would be fine after c-section it just depends on the reason why you had the c-section.

I'm pregnant now with my second. My first was an emergency c-section.

I never had intentions to have a VBAC, but when given my options, it turned out that a VBAC wasn't really an option for me. I live in a smaller community, and my doctor doesn't do them, because she says the smaller hospital she's based out of isn't really equipped to handle them. So if I wanted to pursue a VBAC, I would have to change doctors, and move closer to a bigger hospital, at least temporarily!

Not worth it for me. So, just realize that there may be other factors involved other than just finding the right doctor? Good luck!

I had a c-section with my 1st and am now pregnant with my 2nd. I asked my doctor about VBAC and he said that I could do it in a town about 45 minutes away where they have a NICU incase anything happens. But the risk of VBAC is that you have a high chance of your uteris rupturing and potentially killing you and the baby. So I decided just to do another c-section. I know there are risks with c-sections also, but they are routinely performed and are safer than VBAC. I am willing to do whatever it takes just to have a healthy baby. I hope this helps you when you have to make that decision. Good luck in all you do!

I was told I couldn't have VBAC b/c of the situation with my first C. I didn't dialate. I will let you know a planned C is a breeze and I would do it again if I wanted more children. It was a completely different experience the second time around. Good Luck!!!!

VBAC according to ob-gynecologist i know is a dangerous procedure. what happens on cesarean delivery, an incision is made over the enlarged uterus and once the baby is delivered the uterus is sutured.

now imagine. during 2nd pregnancy. the whole uterus iduring labor is contracting to force the baby out the vagina. the WHOLE uterus is contracting forcefully.

you compare. which is uterus is most likely to rupture and explode? a sutured uterus or a complete uterus?

most doctors would prefer to deliver the baby over cesarean section. rather risking the uterus to rupture and hence risking the mother's life and plus the capability to get pregnant again.

but it is still the call of your doctor though.
but no doctor will say they will do this and that since they have to assess the patient.
