A war simply does not happen. It is the culmination of many a dialogues between the two, hoping to sit across the table to sort out the issue.Because the dialogue fails, it is by force that the two come back to the same table , again. But, this time, one is the vanquished and the other , the victor.
It is possible for the defeated to see the larger issues. LIke Japan. Like Eastern Germany.
Look at . also , the other interesting side. Mahatma gandhi did not win a classic war with weapons and bombs. . The defeated was the powerful , super power Great Britain ( then but now only Britain ,) .
In the history of world , this unique thing changed the world view of the "defeated" and Britain started to roll back its aggressive policy from around the world. Today Britain is still the most , respected and loved friend of India that it , once , ruled.

War cannot change the world-view of anything... Think about it, when is the last time the world viewed anything the same. Everyone in the world is not going to have the same opinion about a paticular war. War is a device used for capital gain and nothing more. You know who looses in a war? Everyone...... There is Death and loss on both sides. The only good thing about war is from an economic stand point of arms dealers and defense contractors.
