The sin isnt actually the act of masturbation but from the moment you let thoughts of carnal sex and lust fill your head, that is where the sin begins. Nothing in the bible i think says that it is a sin. It has something on coitus interruptus but that was when the guy disobeyed a direct command from GOD to impregnate his wife... to some it is kind of like the lesser of evils, a lot consider it as a sin, but it is better to be pleasing yourself through masturbation than go rape somebody or have an intimate relationship with somebody and get that person pregnant and not taking responsibility for it... its the lesser of two evils. In any case if you are a Chrisian, remember this words: "Thy will be done." Also, GOD will not shun you away because of your sins, so long as you sincerely repent, HE loves you that is why He sent His only son to die on the cross for you.... He knows we are not perfect but that does not mean that each day we can try harder to be to please HIM... Remember all of us are sinners and the first step to growth as a Christian is to admit that and to ask for guidance and help... True you may feel guilt that you do masturbate but that only shows that you are a Christian because you still feel bad after you do a thing which you believe is a sin and that doesn't mean GOD will hate you or shun you, you always have the right to ask for forgiveness and ask for GOD to give you the strength to resist the temptation to do so again.

It's not a sin. God gave us sexual pleasure as a gift. You just have to be respectful of that gift, and of your body - don't hurt yourself, or do it excessively so that it interferes with your life. And don't allow lust to cause you to make bad decisions. Also, if you're married, sex is meant to be shared with your spouse... so don't masturbate to the point where you lose interest in sex.

Masturbation is sex with oneself.
That is sex outside of your marriage, so therefore qualifies as sin.
If practiced over time, it will destroy all other sexual relationships including your marriage.
No marriage partner appreciates being cheated on.
Your marriage partner cannot satisfy your every sexual desire as easily and satisfactorily as you can.
When that happens you have caused a serious problem within your relationship.
Your marriage partner cannot compete and then jealousy sets in.
The end result is a destroyed relationship.

Oh who cares. If you follow your religion fastidiously and they say masturbation is a big no-no, then I guess it would be. But most people don't. Come on, a lot of people would say masturbation is better than sex, at least before marriage, or before you are "ready". It's your own viewpoint.
