I was wondering, when they put stitches in you what do they use to get it in your skin, is it like a needle or something?

it depends on how deep the cut is and how wide/long it is.

sometimes staples are needed and the dr will use a disposable staple gun to staple the wound shut. it takes about 7-14 days for the wound to start healing and then the staples can be removed.

if stitches are needed-a curved (c-shape) needle made of stainless steel is used. it has an eyelet on one end just like a sewing needle to thread the stitching material into so the stitches can be inserted.

Yes it is a type of needle, but now a days they don't use stitches as often. They have medical glue or if it is really bad staples. The glue is great because it just holds the wound together and just slowly washes away.

I just got my stiches out today =). They use this curved needle thing and poke holes in you to thread the stitch through. Taking them out is as simple as cutting the stich and unthreading it. Make sure to keep it clean or it could get infected!

its a curved needle. Don't worry it don't hurt. They shoot you up with liquid fire (lidocaine) to numb the area. Be scared of the fire, not of the needle.
