Steinbrenner has said he wants Cabrera badly, and the guy will be a free agent after the 2007 season. Santana will be free after the 2008 season, but the Twins might want to get something good for him well before that

as a red sox fan, hopefully not, maybe cabrera, but the twins would be nuts to give up a guy who is a cy young candidate every year and as for cabrera, its seems that thats what the marlins do trade away great players for prospects

The Tigers did not "scouse borrow" every physique far off from the Angels. The Angels prepare an extremely stable kit for Cabrera, and the Marlins in fact spit of their faces and pronounced, "Yeah precise, you're able to do extra effective." do not be fooled. The Marlins have the diverse suited scouts in MLB, and that they comprehend precisely what they are getting from the Tigers. they are going to have 2 important league waiting gamers for next season, and in all probability a minimum of two of the different 4 would be professional by using 2009. to respond to your question although, i actually do not see the Yankees swooping in for Santana. i'm specific they are rooting for him to finally end up with an NL team (Mets, Dodgers, or D-Backs), yet they are negotiating has hit the skids, on an identical time as different communities are nonetheless putting forth the attempt to receive him. i could say the opportunities prefer Boston precise now, yet there hasn't been be attentive to a accessible kit from any of the NL communities, so stay tuned.

With a bulging disc in his back, and at the age of 42, I wonder if the Big Unit will finally retire, which is a good possibility. So there you free up a chunk of an already over inflated payroll.

Mussina, the Yankees will probably not be optioned to come back, again, free up a chunk of the payroll. And Sheffield will unlikely be back, another chunk.

Wang is a keeper and for all of the Yankee haters out there, this one came up through their farm system, along with Cano, who they will be keeping, and Melky, who they will be keeping. If trade talks turn where any of these names are mentioned, the talking is over according to GM Cashman.

The Yankees also have another great prospect waiting in AAA ball... Hughes, and from what I have heard this kid has the making of a superstar on the mound.

I would to see Willis, and I know the Marlins would have no qualms trading him. I have, like so many of you, heard Zito is a strong possibility.

However, another name has come up....as much of a fan of his that I am,I feel that this is not the direction for a team to take when they are trying to build up a bullpen , Roger Clemens.

I know that Cashman has defended A-Rod, but I also have heard that Alex's wife is extremely unhappy in the circus of New York. This is another catalyst, I feel, that may push A-Rod in another direction. I commend him for wanting to stay, but why? It is so obvious that he no longer is having fun out there. Why continue to allow yourself to be beat up day after day

Many questions, and eventually those answers will be given. I hope George, realizes that this spending frenzy isn't working, and develops a champion, not buys one.

Everyone knows how Steinbrenner is, he's like a kid in a candy store with a whole lot of money. Johan and Cabrera will see what everyone else is offering and it will be nothing what the Yankees are willing to pay. And I know they will keep A-Rod and there getting Barry Zito after the Tigers beat them.

I think they should trade Alex Rodriguez and get a good starter to
replace Mike Mussina and then Cashman should take Torre over
to Japan and get the Best 3b in Japanese Baseball. Why? That
is the only position on my All-Oriental team that is still blank. It
would also give Matsui someone to talk to and maybe keep him
around longer. The don't really need anything else.

We know King George has the cash to buy anyone. Everybody has a price for King George, including that traitor Johnny Damon. As soon as either player becomes a free agent, I'm sure Georgie will throw money at them. I doubt the Yankees have prospects worth trading to acquire these guys any earlier however.

Cabrera - definetly. The guy made $700k this last season. I'm sure Steinbrenner will shell out top dollar for him.

Johan - don't think the Twins would let him go.

There's no way the Yankees get either of these players.
