Jewelry making is fun and not very difficult to learn....pick up a booklet or magazine devoted to the subject at your local craft store and look at some of the bead stringing projects to see if anything sparks your imagination. A few simple tools and supplies can get you started for less than $25. The best part is getting to wear your creations, give them as gifts and maybe even sell them.

Just for the fun of it why not try "perler beads". Fun, easy, creative. low cost. You know, perler beads are the little beads you use with a frame then you iron them to melt them together.
Follow the link below and go to the "Gallery Archive" click on September. You will see all ages. Fun for kids and adults. You can find kits at "walmart" and "Hobby Lobby". Most any craft store or major discount store. You can also search the web for "melty beads", and find all kinds of free designs. Can even make Christmas ornaments. Just a fun easy craft!

I like to make stained glass. It's easy and relatively cheap. The glass is the only part that cost a little. Try Latch-hook that's very easy and time consuming. Since it's freezing outside ( I hate the cold) pick up ice sculpting. My cousin did it for a 5 star hotel in Indy, he liked it.

make a Christmas wreath. Buy about three skeins of white yarn. Cut a piece of cardboard about 3 inches square. Wrap yarn about 80 times around, cut off and tie in middle leaving long enough tails to use as ties. Wrap all yarn like this. Take a metal hanger and make a circle out of it. tie all the yarn on to it. Go to dollar store/cheap craft store and buy decorations- holly, pinecones, whatever you like. Decorate wreath- easy, cheap beautiful door wreaths.

Try simple cross stitch (at least to start out with). Fairly easy to find small ones that aren't insanely detailed in craft stores.

Since it is close to Christmas have you thought of doing christmas ornaments and giving them to all the family. Or have you tried to cross stitch on a gingham tablecloth. Any design will do. What I do if it is a red check than I have red thread to cross the white squares and white thread to cross the red squares. It is a thought

My grandma used to make small waste baskets out of egg cartons. She would punch holes along the long edge and sew them together with yarn. I think she just used the egg holding part of the egg carton. Then sewed a piece of cardboard or heavy paper on the bottom. They were cute.
