I had a period and tested negative even at the doctor's office. I had to go back and get an different kind of test to finally prove I was pregnant. What she is experiencing isn't so unusual, and there is no reason to be worried about it.

Tell her not to stress, she had a doc confirm preg and that's what matters. My friend didn't get a positive home test till she was past 22 weeks. It also depends on the type of home test, some tests are more sensitive to preg hormones than others.

It is rare, but it is possible to also have a *mock* period thru preg. Sucks lol, but it has known to happen. As long as her doc is happy and the baby is growing, tell her to relax and take a breather before she doesn't get to again for the next 18 years lol.

Tell her congrats !!

Tell her congratulations from me!

Sometimes, women never get a positive urine pregnancy test. For some reason, the levels of hgc in the urine just isn't high enough to trigger the test, even though the baby is perfectly fine.

And what she had was not a period, but spotting. Probably heavy spotting, if it was enough that she thought it was her regular period. It is physically impossible to have a regular period while pregnant, unless you have two uteruses (or would that be uteri?) and two sets of ovaries and fallopian tubes inside of one body.

The best thing to check if your pregnant is through ultrasound. Its 18 weeks so its already possible for an ultrasound if a baby is already there.

Sometimes in pregnant women the hcg hormone just never reaches the urine..Trust me if the blood test is postive then she is indeed pregnant!
