Yes. I think that, after awhile, married people get so used to it that they forget how lucky they are to have found someone that they can share their life with. It's easy to get complacent, but they still shouldn't take it for granted because there are people who never get that opportunity.

I can't speak for the masses but I never take a day in my marriage for granted. My husband is my best friend and vice versa. We still find something more we love about the other and the sex is still fabulous!
We've been together for 6 yrs. and married for 5. I need him in my life, he has never been a want. I think marriage is a wonderful thing (depending you find the right person).

My husband and I have been married for 22 years. We try not to take it for granted. We determined before we got married tht we would work at our marriage every day. Some days its way easy. Other days we don't like each other very much, but we still love each other, so we work harder. A great marriage takes two people paying close attention to each other.

Yes...they either take for granted the too romantic view of marriage that they had before getting married, or they take for granted the feelings after marriage that too often are no longer said or shown to their partner.

Some do, but I think most just get comfortable in the misguided idea that their spouse's love is unconditional - it's not. Anyone who is married and intends to stay married, knows that it takes a lot of hard work, but definitely worth it to know that you have a partner for life.

I'm not really understanding the question.
Taking what, exactly, for granted? Marriage covers a lot of ground.

It, or you?
I have lost many a Ken doll to the Barbies of the world. After they get married they all act like Ken, dress like Ken, and lose your phone number like Ken. Welcome to Barbie's dream world.
Now you know why girls ar rapped in pink blankets when they are babies. It is a sign of things to come.
They don't have the luxury to take it for granted until they are divorced and then it is too late.

Most Americans do. My wife and I are some of the few who doesn't. Thats why we have a high divorce rate and why people get prenups. It's a disposable society. It's also why the media preaches marriage and love is stupid. And people buy into it and believe it. Gotta love the lack of care nowdays.

I believe that when people don't appreciate what they have, it is taken from them. When people get married, they are under the blanket illusion that happily ever after starts there. It takes hard work.

Unless you have tried it don't knock it. The only ones that seem to take it for granted are two homos who don't understand true marraige to begin with.
