Chances are pretty good that there are clauses in the contract that specifies exactly how much you have to pay to break it. On the plus side, there may also be a clause that says when you can break the contract without paying any fees such as finding out that the franchise provided misleading numbers that led you into the contract in the first place. Expect the whole thing go to arbitration or the courts if you are breaking the contract on technicalities. Expect to pay at least $20,000 in legal fees, and likely to be around $50,000, to win your case.
