Best bet is to call your doctor. They pretty much tell you to stay off your back after the first trimester anyway... So there may not be anything wrong. Just get a Boppy cushion or a pillow and put it in between your legs while resting on your side. Don't worry though, not that much longer to go. I was able to sleep on my back and stomach the first night home from the hospital (I really missed sleeping on my tummy).

good luck

you aren't really supposed to lay on your back anyway. If you have to do it though, prop your self up high so you don't lie flat. You need to be at a 45 degree angle. The reason you hurt is because the baby is lying on your organs (stomach, intestines, liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys etc). It's hard and the same positions get tiring but stay on one of your sides as much as possible. Good luck!! Also, just to be safe, next time you go to the doctor, as him about what is going on with you. As long as the baby is still moving, and your water doesn't break and your pains aren't regular like contractions I think you are pretty safe.

If you've been reading up on your pregnancy, it tells you that around the 5th month... you shouldn't lay on your back. The baby puts too much pressure in that position. The best position is on your left side with a pillow between your legs to relieve pressure. Try experimenting with a few pillows tucked around your body to find a comfortable spot. Definitely tell your doctor about it... but I'm sure he's going to tell you that everything is fine.
Good luck.

Sounds like what I have. I am 21 weeks and have had it for a while now. The doctor said its sciatica. It seems to hurt much worse while lying down or getting up after lying down. They basically said the only thing to really do is sleep on the left side. Mine is actually starting to feel better. Good luck!

It's probably the baby "sitting" on a nerve. The furthur along you get the hard it is to find a comfortable position. Try to get a body pillow so you can place it under your belly and inbetween your legs this takes some of the pressure off your back. It seems to help me a little. I'm 31 weeks and it is really hard to get comfortable.

It's best not to lay flat on your back during pregnancy, especially the second and third trimester. I used to pop a pillow underneath me so I was more comfortable. you get so many fifferent aches and pains while pregnant but you should mention it next time you see the doctor

Growing pains, possibly. I would drink plenty of water in case of kidney or urinary infection, and if the pain does not let up in a few hours then contact your physician.

hi,if it is your first time mostly it's normal to experience some pain specially in your lower back coz the baby is now going to his/her way to your pelvic and start to ready for the position and he/she is now gaining weight, but if it is untolerable you should have to consult your OB-gyn to avoid risk for you and your child.ask for some pregnancy exercise that can help you to make your body to adjust to your gaining weight and try to look for a good positioning when you get in bed.Good luck and best wishes................mum to be!
