That's really hard to do in middle and high school. It's a place where other kids are constantly being judged by what they look like, what group they are a part of, financial status, etc. It's all really quite stupid, but you won't realize that until you're out of school. Just try to remember that the cool kids are real people with real problems too. They are not perfect and they all have their own insecurities. Once you make yourself stand up and speak or whatever and you do a good job, you'll have more self confidence to do it more often. You have to understand that you probably have a lot of wonderful and interesting qualities. You can't worry about what other people say about you because other people will always have something to say. I know it's easier said than done right now, but trust me, this will fade away after you graduate from high school. The kids who were cool, won't necessarily be cool any more. The dorks won't be so geeky anymore.....everybody changes because once you have to strike out on your own, you're left to your own devices. That means people will start to look at you as an individual and for what qualities you personally, have to bring. At that point, your confidence will start to develop.

Not really sure becuz I was shy when I was in school. I got made fun of a lot and hated every min. of it. If I wasnt shy then I probably would have stood up and said somethin to the kids sayin and doing mean things. I am deaf and no one else in my hs was and i got made fun of becuz of that and bc i wasnt skinny. It was hard to break out of my shell until i got with my fiance. He really brings out the best in me.

I infrequently ever introduce myself to people I dont ought to in a clean environment, till it comes up. and often by using the top of the 1st week I definitely have made a minimum of two friends. in basic terms be your self and loosen up.

I know it's hard to do. Trust me, I've been there. Public speaking is the worst. The only advice I can give is to be yourself. Don't let anyone intimidate you. When the time is right, you'll know it. Don't forget, BE YOURSELF!
