I have this "friend" (she's actually more like a aquantance know) and I have lied to her a number of times so I decided I wanted to tell her I had lied to her so I could start out with a new reputation...which I thought it was a good idea. So I told her that alot of stuff I told her was a lie and she got mad at me for telling her the truth finally. And now me and my "friend" are not talking.......

Hey, whadya expect? For her too say, "good for you, thanks a bunch?"

Look, she not mad you told the truth, she's hurt that you lied. Give her some time to cool off. Make it clear that you came clean because you realized how f*cked up lying is and you'd like to make it up to her.

It'll take some time for her to trust you again, but remember it's not the truth that got you into this--it was the LIES!

It's gonna take ALOT of patience and honesty. Don't lie again or you'll just completely blow any chance at rebuilding.

And if she totally bails, maybe you're better off without her...and your conscience is clear.

I like how you didn't go into specifics about those lies. Shows that you're hiding something that you know you shouldn't have done. Was it just general gossip/lies that can hurt her? I'm pretty sure it is, and you deserve what you got. Also, they can treat compulsive lying now, you know.

that was very uncompassionate and unforgiving of your friend to not at least give you another chance. you did fess up, after all, and have expressed that you want to start over with a new, better reputation. just keep trying to talk to her, and if she doesn't forgive you eventually, then she's not worth being friends with.

sometimes girls who are friends can be so catty and petty....that's what i hate....

Mine have. In regards to your problem, she doesn't sound like a very good friend. If she was a good friend, she would support your idea of being truthful. Otherwise, too sad, soo bad, sorry about her luck. Good luck to you!!

So she may be thinking y'all friendship was based on lies. Nothing wrong with being honest. You don't have to be brutally honest though. If it will hurt a friend to answer honestly don't say anything.

well, i'm sure that she's probably thinking that u shouldn't have lied to her in the first place... if YOU were truly HER friend u should never have lied to her but then again- if SHE was YOUR true friend, she'd forgive u and thank u for telling the truth. so, idk- i am trying to look at this from all sides and that's my opinion. good luck...

isnt that what you wanted? i mean you lied to her for a reason..what was it? now youve told the truth. let her get over you being a liar for a while and she might come back to you.

give it time and she'll come around. Many times anger is the first response, I could definitely understand but if she thinks about it in time she'll be happy you told her.

but yes it can be annoying, patience and understanding is needed most times.
