because it is ingrained in our society that a boy is an umatured, naive male, while a man is fully grown and able to protect, provide,etc. second, baby is an affectionate term.

baby is pet name that is effectionate now a days and being called a boy is a shot to the manhood(mentaly) because one thing we are raised on now a days is that you want to be a man someone says otherwise than that hurts us because it is our culture to want to be a man

why would you want to call your bf or husband or your date boy? it sound stupid and disrespectful, if you called ur men a boy mean u are still searching for other guys still browsing.
