in baseball, all of the moves are made by the managers. in football the head coach is like the ceo, he makes the big calls and all of the important stuff and watches over the whole show. the offensive and defensive coordinators call the plays. Also in football, there is not that disconnect between the coach and a part of his team like the bullpen and the manager in baseball. Everyone is together on the sideline for the most part unless you are injured or something like that.

Football coaches are more like administrators, they delegate to other people to make a whole lot of the in game strategy. They run the entire show. But the coordinators for the most part actually call the plays. Baseball managers actually handle all of the aspects of strategy that take place in a game.

An average NFL team would destroy the best NCAA team in a game at any time. Even a bottom- feeder NFL team would crush top collegiate teams. How many pro- level- talent players does a typical top- flight NCAA team have? 20? And most of those 20 are going to be backups too. And the rest will play like NFL rookies. So there may be 1-2 guys on the NCAA team that would play as well as his NFL counterpart with the rest making goofy mistakes because the speed of their opponents forces them into a mindset they never had to deal with before, and hence, mistakes.
