Devan,
I understand how you feel. I am a male, 25 years of age and still struggling with wayward skin. I get mild to moderate acne which absolutely frustrates me!
I have tried Proactiv Solution before but it only seems to reduce the condition slightly and not giving me the results that I expect of such an expensive treatment. I suspect the concentration of Glycolic Acid in the toner is not strong enough. Right now, I am using a 15% glycolic toner (With Eucalyptus) which I obtained from www.platinumskincare.com. I use it once a day by applying it to my face with a cotton pad. I leave it on for about half to one hour and then rinse it off. After that, I apply a 5% benzoyl peroxide cream and leave it on overnight.
Its been a week since I used it and I've noticed a difference. Breakouts are less frequent and less serious and I expect my condition to continue improving. Try it! Glycolic acid accelerates shedding of dead skin and prevents it from clogging your pores. It also facilitates the absorption of benzoyl peroxide into your skin to control the spread of P.Acnes bacteria.
I used to do this treatment before and when my skin cleared, I stopped using the toner and only applied benzoyl peroxide. How wrong I was! My skin was clear for some time before the old problem started to re-occur again. I learnt my lesson! Never do away with the glycolic acid toner!
I have had acne since 1996 and am speaking from a decade of experience. I am not trying to promote any product so please please try it. It has worked for me before and I suspect it will continue to do so as long as I keep doing it. Good luck.

See a dermatologist and keep using proactive for eight to ten weeks before u give up on it I swear by it not wanting to sound like a commercial for them. But honestly stick with it it really works for some people it takes a little longer but eventually it really works.

I used to break out bad and I went to this dermatologist in Chicago and found out that dairy products where making me break out. The farmers are giving the cows some sort of steroid so they produce more milk faster.. I quit drinking milk and eating alot of dairy products and its cleared up alot.. She also did this laser treatment and it work awesome. Also try using dial soap when you bath and use clearasil ultra when you go to bed at nite. There is a clay mask by Neutragena that really helps when you feel your face breaking out to

Devan, as hard as this sounds, it;s something like a growing phase you will just have to go through. This too shall pass.
Don't let it affect you as a person, because quality people(and girls) remeber WHO you are, not what you look like.
