Yes, for all the above mentioned reasons and also if water gets trapped between your natural nail and the 'fake' nail (which can happen if your hands are always in water, or if the 'glue' starts to lift)you could get a nasty smelly fungus (yes it really will smell). So yes wear gloves!

with new acrylic nails you should wear some form of glove for both activities. Chemicals in cleaners can react oddly with the acrylic and stain them. Especially if you got airbrushed tips, they're much more apt to fade to a dull yellow color which is completely unattratcive. As far as washing dishes. You can submerge your hands in water for long enough periods of time and it won't damage the nails as far as I know. BUt if you want to make sure then i would wear gloves. Depending on your soap it could react differently with the glue, the acrylis, or the polish. The more chemicals that come in contact with the polish and sealant of the nail, the more likely the nail is to start wearing away and then will crack or break off which at the price they are you don't want. Hope they stay pretty!!

I'd have to say that it's not neccisary. You dont HAVE to wear gloves.. But if you plan on keeping them for longer that a week, then I'd put on some gloves, only needed for washing dishes. Cleaning- No, you dont need gloves for that. The only reason you'd need gloves for doing the dishes is because your hands are submerged in soapy water, and the soap weakens the fastening glue on your nails. Working with the dishes and sponge only make the nails more flexible and gives the water easy access to under your New Acrylic's.
Hope I could help. = )

Yes, I wear rubber gloves for cleaning and washing dishes. I wear them both at home and at work for that reason, at work we are required to wear rubber gloves at all times when cleaning or washing dishes. I wear Ansell branded rubber gloves, they are silverlined on the inside for ease in donning and taking off. They are either yellow, blue or pink at work. I wear rubber gloves to protect my hands and skin from the harsh chemicals that I use.

definitely. even if you don't have acrylics, washing dishes will start to wear out your nails and take away the point of nail polish!

Yes. It seems stupid, yes, but hot water on freshly done nails will cause the glue to melt, for it is not quite hardened yet. It's that, or watch $40 literally go down the drain!

By all means, wear rubber gloves for both chores. put a little lotion on and it will help soften your hands while your wearing them.

Yes, definately. The water and detergeants/cleansers will weaken and possibly ruin them.
