As others have said, try holding a pillow against your stomach when holding your son and try to distract him with a toy or book. When he kicks your belly, tell him no and take his hand and show him to gently rub your belly. If he continues to be wiggly and kicking, then put him down until he is more calm. It is very hard for a 7 month old to comprehend that there is another little person inside mommy. You could probably ask your obgyn for suggestions as well, they probably get asked this question quite a bit and maybe he/she could put your mind at ease. Good luck!
p.s. WOW gladshe8or, maybe you shouldn't answer questions until you're in a better mood, why would you even bother if just to be nasty......very rude!!!!

Your baby should be fine because it is protected by everything around the baby. Also, your 7 month old probably can't kick hard enough to do any damage. But, you may want to start breaking him of the habit of constantly being held, remember how big your stomach gets further down the line! LOL! Best of luck!

that might hurt the baby but then again the 7 month old probably cant kick very hard but it would be like if some one hit you or you fell.but get your partner to hold the 7 month old as much as possible that way he kicks less

Of course he COULD hurt the baby! Teach him not to kick moms belly. I don`t know how much of that he will understand at 7 months though! Just be very careful!

thats probably NOT going to hurt your baby, your baby is in a protective sack of water right now and its niot as easy as it might seem to cause injury, i would try to avoid being kicked in the stomach of course and youll have to get him to deal with not being on your lap so much right now. its hard to explain to a 7 month old that he cant be flippin around on mommy and bein all hyper because she is pregnant, theres really no way to make him undersatnd. just be carefull but i dotn htink yoyu need to worrie too much about it.

gently speak to him about the baby let him know that your belly is a baby I had the same issue a 7 month old boy and 4 m pregnant so I know how you feel. try teaching him that your belly is infact a baby by letting him play peek a boo let him hug and kiss your belly let him talk to the baby. for sitting have him sit next to you put his arm around your belly and your arm around his back this way he is also face to face LOL with the baby and good luck!!!!! its crazy when they are that close

i think that you should ask your doctor if your really concerned...i'd be a little worried about that, im sure the baby is somewhat protected, but not by kicks and such, so ask the doctor and explain to your 7 month old that you have to be gently near mommies tummy, do things like little gestures near your belly.....like the finger to the lips for shhh and a nice pat and say "nice" things like that, he should get the idea.

Your baby is protected by the fluid he's surrounded in and flesh, etc. I don't think he can do much damage. I suggest you try to break carrying him all the time, not completely because he needs to feel love, your skin etc. Try to redirect his attention towards something else (a ball, a plane overhead...real or imaginable...children seem to keep looking for something they can't see...hahaha) when you have tried everything else and know he wants to be carried.

i think of in worst circumstances it could truthfully reason you to have a miscarriage. the toddler is buried deep on your uterus even with the incontrovertible fact that, im no longer an expert, yet possibly your midwife could understand the respond. ive heard being kicked or hit interior the stomache might reason a miscarriage.
