Dropping in on skates is pretty similar to the suggestion for a skateboard as written above. And please, please, please start with a 3-4' ramp or smaller. You'll want to get the feel for the transition before trying anything crazy.
With inline skates, place both your feet on the edge of the ramp with the coping between your middle wheels. Your feet should be about shoulder width apart, knees bent slightly. Lean into the ramp and roll. Keep your weight centered and focus on keeping your wheels on the ground.
It may feel scary at first, but once you get comfortable dropping in, you'll find that any size ramp feels just about the same.
Good luck!

It kind of depends on the size, don't try a 12-foot vert ramp with a skateboard on your first try.
-To drop in, place the tail of the board on the coping of the half pipe, so your board hangs out over towards the other side of the half-pipe.
-Place your back foot on the tail, (to hold it in place,) and put your front foot over the front bolts lightly,
-quickly lean into the ramp and push down on the front of the board to drop in.
Hope this helps. Have fun skating.
