i own a repair shop,and you need to try moving the steering wheel back and forth and see if that helps it any it should help un stick it,if not the linkage may have came loose on it,i have see that happen,and i have also seen the linkage or cable break on them before,and this is the most common cause with the older ones,i do this for a living and i have put a lot of them on here at the shop,check it ,or have it checked and see for sure what it is ,if you don't get it to work,i hope its something simple ,good luck i hope this help,s.

check and see if your brakes lights work? They don't huh!
bad brake light switch or broken wires @ the switch connector
to get it out of park with a broken brake switch do this. turn the key on, then off just until the dash lights go out. With your foot on the brake, put the shifter into neutral, with your foot still on the brake, you should be able to start the car up and shift into drive or reverse. If you put it back into park, you will have to do the whole procedure over again.
Fix the inoperative brake lights and then you will also fix your won't shift out of park issue.
Most common problem is just a bad brake light switch but I have seen broken wires @ the switch connector also.
Remember If you have no brake lights at all, including your third brake light, the car will not release from park because the brake light switch is also the parking release switch.

tPlay with the steering wheel for usually thats how it gets locked a certain tilt and hopefully by manipulating wheel you'll hit on the lock/unlock position---look also in your owners manual under Steering Wheel and Functions---Good Luck
