It depends on your partner. If they have a problem with it, then you have to consider their feelings. If their OK with it, sill be considerate of them. Some people don't know where to draw that friendship line. My guy had a female best friend, who would get very upset whenever i was around. She wanted more, and he didn't see that, until she came out one day and told him. Then he ended their friendship. So be very careful about friends of the opposite sex, especially if your mate has a problem with it. Best friends of the same sex can also cause a problem, especially if they're not in a relationship. Be careful - Be respectful and don't talk to much.

Yes. Believe it or not people of the opposite sex are capable of platonic relationships. My best friend is in a serious relationship. His girlfriend is not insecure and has never made us feel like we shouldn't be friends. On the other hand, I've lost a lot of good friends when they coupled up with someone. That's due in part of all the silly insecurities of women.

not sure if it's right but I am married and have a best friend (male) who is also married. His wife is great. We talk about 6 times a day about everything from grocery shopping to weekend activities. We all do dinner every Friday together and get along great. She is not threatened by me as I'm not of her. She knows of our relationship and my husband knows about ours. It's nothing sexual, just great friendship

Yes. Actually I would be more worried if a serious partner did NOT have a best friend.

Yes. My best friend is male. I know i would never want to persue anyhting with him other than friendship. As long as you KNOW it is only friendship and they have not mentioned anything fishy. "Isn't my best friend hot...etc."
