I have a 92 ford ranger and the light for low range 4wheel drive came on for no reason what do I need to do?

Could be the contact plate on the transfer case motor, try unhooking the connector and wd-40 the plug and work the 4x4.

Try un-plugging your battery for 30sec. then plugging it back in.
